Curbside Recycling by Republic Services

The following items can be placed at the curb in the provided green recycling carts no earlier than 5pm on Monday evening and by 6am Tuesday morning for Tuesday pick-up.  Rinse all containers, and flatten boxes.

  • Metals - aluminum, steel and bi-metal cans from sodas or canned food.  Metal caps and lids.

Recycling Cart
  • Plastic Bottles or Containers for food, beverage, detergent and soap with  the #1 through #7 recycle signs on the bottom only.  Containers must be emptied. No containers which contained hazardous materials such as oil or antifreeze.
  • Cardboard Cartons for milk, juice, single serving juice, soup & broth, and wine, including cardboard containers with aluminum lining.
  • Glass – food and beverage bottles and jars only.  NO window glass and NO glass from household items such as drinking glasses.
  • Paper and Cardboard - junk mail, office papers, cereal boxes, clean pizza boxes, miscellaneous cardboard, paper bags, phone books, gift wrapping, newspapers, magazines, and catalogs.

DO NOT INCLUDE any of the following in your recycling container: motor oil, antifreeze, pesticide, or any hazardous material containers.  No yard waste, food waste, wood, glass windows, dishes, ceramics, light bulbs, Styrofoam, shiny boxes, or plastic bags. 

DO NOT BAG ITEMS: It is not necessary to bag items to be recycled. Please be advised that any plastic bag included in the recycle cart will have to be sorted out at the recycling facility and taken to the landfill.  This makes the recycling process less efficient at the sorting facility.

Curbside Recycling by Bay Village Service Department

The following items can be placed directly on the ground at the curb for pick-up by our city service department after scheduling a pickup:

  • Appliances - Residents disposing of non-functional appliances that contain Freon units, such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, etc., should call the Service Department
