Fund to Reforest Bay Village

Between 2011 and 2017, the City of Bay Village lost 8% of its tree canopy, a rate higher than the county average, according to the Cuyahoga County Urban Tree Canopy Assessment Update 2019.  This fund is an attempt to slow that tree canopy loss in Bay Village by funding new trees on public property.  Since its inception in 2021, Bay Village Green Team's Fund to Reforest Bay Village has raised $5230.43 through February of 2024.

Please donate to The Bay Village Green Team's Fund to Reforest Bay Village.  Your entire donation will directly purchase native trees to plant in public areas throughout the City of Bay Village.  The city's cost per tree is about $260, however any donation amount is appreciated and will be combined with other donations to purchase treesDonations are transferred to the city by The Bay Village Green Team once per year minimum in a public city council meeting.  You can donate through one of two methods below:

Update: Thank you to all the residents who have so generously donated to the fund to date!  Our last donation from the fund to the city was presented in a public city council meeting on Monday, March 3, 2024.  Seventy financial donations by residents collected between January 31, 2022 and March 3, 2024 totaled $4122.19, which was given to the city during the meeting.   This should be able to plant at least 16 native canopy trees on public property in 2024.  These are larger trees with better chances of surviving.  Pictured below is our board president, Patrick McGannon, presenting the donation to the city in that meeting.  This donation consisted of two years of collections due to a fully booked schedule for the service department in 2023.  In 2023, Bay Village had received a large grant from the county to plant trees at Bradley Park and that paused last year's Fund to Reforest Bay Village donation for one year.  Pictures of planted trees will be uploaded to this page once available.
