Curbside Recycling

City of Bay Village residents have two curbside recycling programs, each addressing its own list of recyclable items. (Note that if it cannot be recycled in one of the two curbside programs below, then it may be able to be recycled through area drop-off programs, listed in the Drop-Off Recycling menu item to the left.) The two curbside programs are:

Curbside Recycling by Republic Services

To view the latest rules for curbside recycling items that you can place into your GREEN RECYCLING CART, visit the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District's website link below. They have the most up-to-date rules, since they work directly with our waste hauler to get accurate information. Note that you should NOT bag the recyclables. This creates problems in Republic's recycling equipment, which makes recycling more expensive and less viable for communities like ours.

Curbside Recycling by Simple Recycling

Due to the State of Ohio's Stay-at-home Executive Order, Effective Immediately, please be advised that Simple Recycling collection operations in the Cleveland market are temporarily suspended. This will remain in effect until further notice. Regular trash/recycling continues as scheduled.

Place the bright GREEN BAGS supplied by Simple Recycling (sent to resident's homes) or place the bright green sticker on a bag or items to be recycled. Place these items out at the curb with your trash and recycling carts and they will be picked up by Simple Recycling on the regular collection day. Extra bags are available at City Hall, 350 Dover Center Rd. and the Bay Village Service garage, 31300 Naigle Rd.

What can be recycled? The primary focus is on clothing and other textiles -- blankets, sheets, drapes and towels, for example. But usable household items like small furniture and appliances, pots and pans, dishes, lamps and microwaves also are accepted. You can see the full list on Simple Recycling's website.
